A fatal crash in the Town of Savannah late-Sunday left a resident from Waterloo; and another from Rose dead.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle was traveling on Savannah Spring Road when it left the roadway, struck a guard rail, and bridge abutment. It eventually came to rest in Crusoe Creek, according to deputies.
Two involved – identified as Kayla Mettler, 27, of Waterloo; and Michael Schute, 32, of Rose were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third person involved in the wreck, identified as Christopher Kirkley, 35, of Rose was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
