IJC: Lake Ontario likely to reach or exceed 2017 water levels in next few days

The International Joint Commission is now predicting Lake Ontario will reach or exceed the 2017 record high within the next few days.

The IJC regulates the lake’s levels.

Forecasts show the lake will crest within the next one to three weeks, most likely within a few centimeters of the record high. Rain is a big factor.

Local leaders are scheduled to meet with the IJC Tuesday.
