Auburn man accused of strangling, punching woman

Officers have arrested a 34-year-old Auburn man for allegedly beating and strangling a female woman, causing face and head injuries that required a trip to the hospital, according to Auburn police.

Jason Page, of Cottage Street in Auburn, was arrested around 10 p.m. on Saturday when police arrived regarding a domestic violence call, according to Auburn police Sgt. Don Gosline.

Page allegedly violated an order of protection, strangled the victim and punched her in the face, police said. He also tried to physically prevent officers from responding to the scene, police said.

The suspect is facing six charges: Aggravated criminal contempt and first-degree criminal contempt, both felonies. He’s also charged with assault, obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction of governmental administration, police said.
