UPDATE: Newark woman accused of taking dog from car in Canandaigua

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Ontario County Humane Society report the arrest of a 30-year-old Newark woman following an investigation into a missing dog, which was reported earlier this week.

Truffles, the missing dog, was located at 132 Prospect Street in Newark. The dog is in good health, according to deputies. It was determined that Kelly Price, 30, of Newark took Truffles from a vehicle, which was unlocked.

She believed the dog had been left unattended in a hot car. However, Price never notified authorities about the incident.

As result, Price was charged with petit larceny. She was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charge at a later date.
