Foundation continues legacy of Victor student athlete

The fifth annual Tyler Strong Golf Tournament was held last week at Ravenwood Golf Course, continuing the legacy of the Victor Central School student and athlete.

Established in 2014, the Tyler Strong foundation embraces the spirit of Tyler Hutt, a Victor Central School student. The senior high school football player died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism in August 2014. He was 17.

Organizers say that 148 golfers participated and 240 guests attended the dinner at this year’s event. In all over $50,000 has been given back to community organizations through the foundation.

“Our mission is to help kids and families from the Victor community who may come across struggles of their own,” stated Duane Hutt, Tyler’s father. “When Tyler passed away, we made a promise to him that he would not be forgotten, and we would create something positive in his name.”
