Police: Auburn man assaulted officer during arrest

An Auburn police officer received minor injuries when an Auburn man allegedly resisted arrest Tuesday morning, the Auburn Police Department said.

Auburn deputy chief Roger Anthony said an officer made a call about suspicious activity at 1:03 a.m. The officer saw Jason J. Murphy, 36, of 81 Bradford St., at the parking lot of Mavis Discount Tire, 33 E. Genesee St., standing outside a vehicle with a car door open and a purse in his hand, Anthony said.
