Dryden man charged with rape as new DNA evidence emerges in cold case

The Ithaca Police Department reports felony charges following a rape investigation in the city.

Chad Hamilton, 29, of Dryden was charged with second-degree rape for engaging in sexual activity with a child under 15 years old.

Police say that Hamilton was approximately 27-years-old at the time of the offense. They say that incident occurred at the victim’s address.

The investigation had gone cold, according to police, who say that new DNA evidence surfaced, which allowed for an arrest to be made.

The investigation remains active.
