Forecast to turn more seasonable as weekend approaches

While the central and northern parts of the Finger Lakes saw more accumulating snow overnight – the rest of the region saw nothing but extreme cold.

And for this time of year – the record-setting lows – which registered in the mid-teens in many places – meant even colder wind chills.

Heading out the door this morning – wind chill readings will be in the single digits, or nearly zero in some rural parts of the region.

The lake flakes will taper as the morning progresses – and sunshine will dominate the forecast. But don’t expect any significant warm-up to occur.

Temperatures will struggle on Wednesday to get into the mid-20s. That said, change is on the horizon – with 40s back in the forecast by weekend.
