Have you noticed your cable bill going up? A lawmaker continues his push to turn up the heat on Charter Communications, Spectrum’s parent company.
U.S. Representative Anthony Brindisi has been asking the federal government to look into the company’s price hikes and business practices. He claims the company has provided poor service while increasing fees.
In March, Brindisi introduced the Transparency for Cable Consumers Act in the House. The bill would force Spectrum to turn over more information about its costs and operations, but it has been stuck in the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
He’s now trying to slip it into a stopgap spending bill, which needs to be approved before Thanksgiving to avoid a federal government shutdown.
