Man admits to stealing South Bristol highway truck from department garage in Ontario County Court

Sheriff Kevin Henderson says a South Bristol resident has pleaded guilty in Ontario County Court after an incident at the South Bristol Highway Department in 2019.

Henderson said that on November 13th, 2019 Ross W. Thompson II, of South Bristol unlawfully entered the South Bristol Highway Department building and stole keys to a pickup truck.

He then used the keys to take the truck to the city of Rochester, where he abandoned the vehicle.

The truck was recovered soon thereafter, and was not damaged, according to Sheriff Henderson.

The Sheriff says he will be sentenced on the third-degree burglary charge at a later date.
