One hospitalized, another ticketed after crash in Canandaigua

On Tuesday, deputies were called to the report of a two-car crash at the intersection of State Route 5 and State Route 21.

Deputies say Paul Vandevelt, 73, of Lima was turning left from Route 5 onto Bristol Road in Canandaigua. They say he turned left into the path of a vehicle operated by Kellie West, 40, of Conesus.

West was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies say Vandevelt was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way.

Deputies say no other injuries were reported. Canandaigua Emergency Squad responded to the crash, along with the Cheshire Fire Department.
