Deputies: Wayland woman charged with DWAI after crash in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Wayland woman following an investigation into a crash on Plank Road in Walworth.

Deputies say Caitlin Jones, 31, of Wayland crashed her vehicle into a utility pole causing significant damage to her vehicle, as well as the pole.

Jones consented to a chemical test, which showed no trace of alcohol. Deputies say she was then evaluated by a drug recognition expert.

Deputies say that screening determined the presence of drugs. However, Jones refused a chemical test for blood and was subsequently charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, moving from lane unsafely, and failure to keep right.

She was released on appearance tickets.

Jones is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
