Officials say Yates has first confirmed COVID-19 case

Officials in Yates County say they have their first confirmed case of the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Yates County Public Health announced on Sunday that a patient in their 30s is in mandatory isolation at home. They are being monitored by health officials.

The County is now going through the process of identifying those who had close contact with the person who tested positive.

Residents are asked to continue social distancing protocols. Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath are asked to call their healthcare provider for instructions.
