As hundreds of thousands of claims were filed, and countless others unable to be completed due to technical issues – the state is making changes.

New York is hiring hundreds of additional workers to help with unemployment claims.

Compared to this time last year, a claim increase of nearly 2,700% was observed.

The state notes that even if you can’t get through right away – your benefits will still be retroactive to the day you lost your job.
