Organizers of the Grassroots Festival in Tompkins County say the show will go on this year.
In an email to supporters on Monday, organizers said that efforts are being taken to keep the community informed along the way.
It’s the 30th anniversary of the festival.
“We know you’re all dealing with a lot right now and all of us here at the GrassRoots Festival are in it with you, hoping for the best and doing what we can to keep all of us safe,” the statement began. “As of now, the 30th Annual GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance will go forward as planned. As things progress, we will keep you all apprised of any changes.”
“Remember, you are not alone, we are not alone, GrassRoots is going to share resources that will support our communities and offer direct support with live streaming to our musicians through these trying and uncertain times. We are looking forward to the time that we can all celebrate and all be together again. We are wishing you all peace and health,” the statement concluded.
The festival is slated for July 16th through 19th.
