Future of Auburn Doubledays remains unclear; officials uncertain about 2020 summer season

No official word yet.

Auburn City Manager Jeff Dygert says they still haven’t been given any indication whether there will be baseball this season in the city.

The Auburn Doubledays were among the teams that would have been eliminated in the restructured format.

Ultimately, Dygert told Finger Lakes News Radio that the restrictions in place set out by Gov. Andrew Cuomo will dictate whether baseball can happen in Auburn.

Minor league teams across the region have contended that unlike professional sports – if there are no fans – revenue loss would make the facilities impossible to run.
