Deputies: Wayne County man throws plate at young child during dispute over cigarettes

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Galen man following an incident involving a family member.

Coli Serafine, 20, of Galen was arrested by deputies after they received a 911 call for a report of family trouble.

An investigation into the incident determined Mr. Serafine was arguing with his sister over a pack of cigarettes in the presence of her one- and three-year-old children, according to deputies.

They say he kicked over a chair and threw a plate in the direction of the three-year-old child. As result he was taken into custody on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment.
