Sheriff Jim Allard reports that deputies arrested a 48-year-old Avoca resident following an arson investigation on Monday.

Donald Kennedy, 48, is accused of intentionally damaging a residence by setting it on fire. It’s further alleged that he violated a court order in the process.

As result of that incident, Kennedy was charged with felony arson, felony contempt, and violation of probation- as a misdemeanor.

He was held on $2,500 cash bail and will answer the charges at a later date.

Sheriff Allard thanked the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and Steuben County Fire Investigation team for assistance with the investigation.
