Downtown plaza construction starting this week in Auburn

Construction of the public plaza on State St. in downtown Auburn is getting underway.

Auburn Downtown BID Executive Director Stephanie DeVito tells Finger Lakes News Radio that the project is coming together thanks in large part to the hard work of city planners and officials.

The development will take place at the long-vacant site of the Kalet Department Store.

It should be completed by November, according to DeVito and city officials.

The $1.4 million project is part of the city’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.
