The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Macedon woman following a welfare fraud investigation.
Deputies say Yesenia Astacio, 33, of Macedon was charged with offering a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, and petit larceny.
The 33-year-old was arrested following an investigation into a complaint received from the Wayne County Department of Social Services.
It’s alleged that Astacio intentionally filed documents with DSS knowing that the household income presented was false. As result, she received $933 in SNAP benefits for which she did not qualify.
The charges will be answered in local court at a later date.Want the latest headlines in your inbox each morning? Click here to sign up for our Morning Edition and Sunday Insight newsletters.
