Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office looking to fill the position of Deputy at the end of the year

Sheriff Derek Osborne of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says he is looking to fill the position of Deputy at the end of the year.

The Sheriff stated he has a commitment to diversifying and creating a fully inclusive workforce in order to serve and protect everyone in the community.

The Deputy Sheriff exam is in September of this year and free to take.




There will be physical agility preparation sessions throughout summer at these dates and times:

June 26th, 2021 (7am – 9am): Trumansburg High School Track

July 10th, 2021 (8am – 10am): Cass Park (Parking lot in front of the Rink)

July 17th, 2021 (8am – 10am): Dryden High School Track

July 24th, 2021 (8am – 10am): Groton High School Track

The training sessions do not require pre-registrations.

The county will have civil service study sessions during August.
