Cornell students shut down career fair over weapons manufacturers’ involvement

Over 100 Cornell University students shut down a career fair on Wednesday at the Statler Hotel in protest of the inclusion of weapons manufacturers Boeing and L3Harris.

The protestors, organized by the Coalition for Mutual Liberation (CML), rallied outside Day Hall before marching to the fair, where they disrupted proceedings with chants and noisemakers, calling for divestment from companies linked to military actions in Gaza.

Boeing and L3Harris, both major defense contractors, were targeted for their involvement in supplying weapons used by Israel. The protest followed a student referendum in April that overwhelmingly called for divestment from these companies.
