Downtown Auburn has seen a surge of activity in recent months with the opening of new businesses, public art installations, and bustling community events. In a recent appearance on Beyond the Front Page with Guy Cosentino, Jesse Kline, Acting Executive Director of the Auburn Business Improvement District (BID), discussed the exciting developments and upcoming plans for downtown.
Recent additions to the downtown scene include a speakeasy located beneath Prison City Pub, a new flower shop, and a coffee house on East Hill. These businesses join a growing lineup in downtown Auburn, contributing to the area’s revitalization and attracting both residents and visitors.
In addition to new businesses, the city has hosted multiple festivals and unveiled various public art pieces, making downtown a vibrant cultural hub. Kline, who stepped into the BID’s leadership role following the departure of long-time Director Stephanie DeVito, highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for these initiatives and the BID’s commitment to supporting local businesses and arts.
Looking ahead, Kline shared details about one of the area’s most anticipated events, the annual Holiday Parade, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30, just after Thanksgiving. The parade is expected to bring together families, friends, and visitors to kick off the holiday season in Auburn.
