Hyundai has announced the recall of 145,235 vehicles, including IONIQ and Genesis models, due to a defect in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). The issue could cause the 12-volt battery to stop charging, leading to a loss of drive power and increasing crash risks.
Recalled models include the 2022-2024 IONIQ 5, 2023-2025 IONIQ 6, and multiple Genesis vehicles. Hyundai dealers will inspect and replace the ICCU and its fuse, update software, and perform all repairs free of charge. Owners will receive recall notices by Jan. 17, 2025.
This recall expands on a previous one, and affected vehicles will require updated remedies. Hyundai owners can check their recall status by contacting customer service or using the NHTSA database.
