A Penn Yan man faces a slate of charges following a late-night traffic stop that revealed signs of intoxication and multiple vehicle violations.
Jordan L. Youngs, 29, was arrested by Penn Yan Police early Sunday morning after being stopped for a traffic infraction within the village. During the stop, police observed signs of impairment and discovered additional violations, including unsafe tires and inadequate headlights.
Youngs reportedly refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests or submit to a chemical test, resulting in his arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) under common law. Further investigation revealed that he was operating the vehicle with an aggravated unlicensed operation charge and without a valid driver’s license.
Additional charges included consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, as well as equipment violations. Youngs was processed and held for arraignment before the Yates County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court later that morning.
