Pal-Mac High School went into lockdown Thursday after a student reported hearing noises that sounded like gunshots. The 911 call was made at 2:25 p.m., shortly after students were dismissed for the day, prompting an immediate lockdown, according to the Pal-Mac Central School District.
Law enforcement agencies, including New York State Police, Macedon Police, Palmyra Police, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene. After a thorough search, authorities determined the noise was not gunfire. The lockdown was lifted, and the school reopened at 3:35 p.m.
District officials announced that counseling services would be available Friday for any students or staff needing support.
