Drizly, a now-closed alcohol delivery platform owned by Uber, will pay $4 million to New York delivery workers for tips they never received, according to the state attorney general’s office.
The platform let liquor stores handle their own deliveries but failed to ensure tips reached workers, affecting over 8,000 employees at more than 2,400 stores. Illegal tip pooling and distribution practices were blamed for the shortfall.
In addition to the settlement, $200,000 will fund a reimbursement administrator. The case highlights New York’s recent crackdown on wage theft.
