The Mega Millions jackpot reached $1 billion for Tuesday’s Christmas Eve drawing, marking only the seventh time in history the prize has hit this milestone. The winning numbers are 38, 45, 14, 46, 11, with a Mega Ball of 3 and a Megaplier of 3X.
The cash option stands at $448.8 million. This drawing is the largest Mega Millions prize ever awarded in December and only the second win on Christmas Eve.
With odds of 1 in 302 million, the jackpot has gone unclaimed since September 10. Tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
