Blair Horner, longtime executive director of the New York Public Interest Group (NYPIRG), is transitioning into a new role as senior policy advisor, according to the organization. Megan Ahearn, currently program director, will succeed him as executive director.
Ahearn, who oversees NYPIRG’s community and campus policy initiatives, has played a key role in advancing state climate legislation, including the All-Electric Building Act. She will become the group’s eighth executive director in over 50 years.
Horner, with a tenure dating back to 1979 and experience advising the state attorney general, will continue focusing on state government advocacy in his new position.
