Federal funding of $15 million will support the installation of 350 electric vehicle charging stations across State University of New York (SUNY) campuses, announced Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
The grant, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act, aims to reduce air pollution and meet the rising demand for EV infrastructure. SUNY will add 700 chargers, including fast and Level 2 options, enhancing accessibility for students, staff, and visitors.
Officials emphasized the initiative’s role in advancing state and national climate goals, supporting sustainable transportation, and reducing carbon emissions.
