The partnership, employing 6,500 people, aims to expand primary care access in Chemung and Tompkins counties and improve healthcare delivery through shared resources and reduced operational costs. Centralus Health will also implement the EPIC electronic health record system in March, enhancing patient care with the MyChart portal for appointment management and provider communication.

Officials say the merger positions the system to address workforce and financial challenges while improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency.
