FLEDC celebrates economic growth in Yates County

The Finger Lakes Economic Development Center (FLEDC) of Yates County deemed 2024 a success, reporting involvement in over 30 projects that attracted businesses, supported expansions, and retained local enterprises. These efforts are expected to generate $20 million in investments and 41 new jobs over three years.

Notable achievements include relocating Wine and Beer Supply to Penn Yan, assisting Upstate Brewing Company with a new tap room, and supporting Miles Wine Cellars in building a distillery. CEO Steve Griffin highlighted a decade of progress, citing $300 million in investments and 680 projected jobs created through FLEDC initiatives.

Griffin, active on multiple boards and committees, emphasized ongoing plans for housing development and leadership programs in 2025. The FLEDC remains committed to attracting businesses and fostering community growth.
