Schuyler County workshop explores solar development on farms

Schuyler County farmers and landowners are invited to a workshop on January 23 to learn about solar energy development on agricultural lands.

Hosted by Schuyler County Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Farm Bureau, the event will cover leasing basics, potential benefits, and legal considerations.


Titled “Solar & Ag in Schuyler County: What you need to know,” the workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Montour Falls.

Topics include solar viability, application processes, and lease agreements, presented by experts from Cornell University, American Farmland Trust, MRB Group, and Colligan Law LLP. Registration costs $15 and includes lunch.
