The New York Mets brought back right-handed reliever Ryne Stanek on a one-year deal worth between $4.5 million, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reported Wednesday.
Feinsand added that the deal includes $500,000 in incentives.
Stanek, 33, had a rough 2024 regular season after being acquired at the trade deadline, posting a 6.06 ERA over 16.1 innings. However, he shined in the postseason, allowing just two runs over six innings against the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers while striking out seven.
With Stanek back, the Mets’ bullpen will be led by Edwin Díaz and A.J. Minter, along with Dedniel Núñez, Reed Garrett, and possibly José Butto. Other relief options include Sean Reid-Foley, Huascar Brazobán, Dylan Covey, and Tyler Zuber.
