Anne Thompson, NBC News’ chief environmental affairs correspondent, will serve as the spring 2025 Zubrow Distinguished Visiting Journalist at Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences. During her visits from March 3-7 and April 7-11, Thompson will engage with climate change researchers and faculty in religious studies.

Thompson will lead a career conversation for students on March 4 and moderate a sustainability panel on April 10. Peter John Loewen, Arts and Sciences dean, praised her extensive climate reporting, including global summits and environmental innovations.

Since 2007, Thompson’s Emmy-winning coverage has focused on climate, business, and finance. Her reporting spans stories on the Gulf oil spill, carbon capture technology, and major financial trials. Thompson joined NBC News in 1997 after an award-winning career at Detroit’s WDIV-TV.
