Lansing plans digital upgrade for municipal code

The village of Lansing is working to reorganize and digitize its municipal code, aiming to keep local laws up to date and accessible. At a Feb. 10 meeting, a General Code representative outlined the benefits of an electronic system, including improved transparency and efficiency.

The project, costing $15,500, will involve restructuring outdated sections, ensuring compliance with state law, and hosting the code on eCode360. This platform allows residents to easily access regulations, reducing the burden on village staff.

Once complete, Lansing can update its code regularly, keeping local ordinances enforceable and publicly available.
