Jason Zucker has enjoyed his first year in Buffalo, so much that he signed an extension with the Sabres on Friday.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Sabres and Zucker have agreed to a two-year, $9.5 million contract extension.

Despite the team’s struggles, Zucker has had a productive year in Buffalo, scoring 18 goals and 55 points in 54 games this season.

Zucker joined the Sabres last offseason on a one-year, $5 million contract.

The former second round pick of the Minnesota Wild has 214 goals and 414 points in 751 NHL games.

Zucker is the second Sabre to sign an extension this week, joining forward Jordan Greenway.
