A Rochester man has been arrested in connection with a 2023 burglary at Filer’s Powersports in Macedon, where multiple dirt bikes were stolen during a dramatic “smash and grab” theft, according to the Macedon Police Department.
Authorities say 23-year-old Dimetris Burgos, of Murray Street in Rochester, was taken into custody following an extensive investigation. He has been charged with grand larceny in the second degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, burglary in the third degree, and conspiracy in the fourth degree.
Investigators allege that Burgos, along with several other individuals, orchestrated the burglary by using a vehicle to ram into a garage door on the side of the building. Once inside, the suspects stole multiple dirt bikes, left the scene, and later returned to steal more.
Police say Burgos was linked to the crime through DNA evidence found at the scene. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he awaits CAP arraignment.
