Residents of the Finger Lakes region will gather this Saturday to voice concerns over proposed federal cuts to essential services.

The Assemble for Democracy rally, co-sponsored by the Democratic Committees of Cayuga, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates Counties, will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Lakefront Park in Geneva, just east of the Finger Lakes Welcome Center.

Organizers say the event is a response to ongoing threats to Medicaid, Medicare, veterans’ benefits, Social Security, and education funding.

With federal budget proposals targeting reductions, local leaders are calling on community members to stand in opposition and demand protection for these critical programs.

Attendees are encouraged to join and make their voices heard as they advocate for the preservation of services that impact millions of Americans.
