A 51-year-old Alpine man pleaded guilty to several charges in Schuyler County following a case involving sex crimes against a child.
John Swaney Jr., 51, of Alpine, New York pleaded guilty in Schuyler County Court on Friday to every charge in the pending indictment against him.
Those included criminal solicitation, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The case and charges stem from a February indictment in which he solicited a 15-year-old victim for sexual intercourse and forcibly touched the victim without their consent.
The proof supporting the indictment included an audio recording made by the victim in which the defendant could be heard admitting to sexual contact with the victim and using obscene language, according to prosecutors.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation and multiple other agencies were involved. Sentencing is slated for May.
