A Corning woman is facing felony charges following a February incident in Bath that left a police officer injured and property damaged, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Ava Sitzer, 19, was arrested Wednesday, March 19, on a warrant charging her with second-degree assault, a class D felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Deputies said the charges stem from an incident that occurred while Sitzer was receiving emergency medical treatment in Bath. During that time, authorities allege she caused injury to a police officer and damaged property at the scene.
After receiving care at the hospital, investigators secured a warrant for her arrest. Deputies executed that warrant this week and took Sitzer into custody.
She was processed in court and later released on $1,000 bail.
