Sabres lose second straight to Wild

The Buffalo Sabres suffered a second straight loss, falling 4-1 to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon at Xcel Energy Center.

JJ Peterka netted Buffalo’s (27-35-6) lone goal for the second straight game, assisted by Owen Power and Rasmus Dahlin. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 17 saves on 20 shots in net.

Jacob Bernard-Docker made his Sabres debut, logging 11:29 of ice time without being on for any goals. Zach Benson returned after missing one game due to illness, while Jack Quinn and Brett Murray were scratched. Sam Lafferty exited after two periods, leaving Buffalo with 10 forwards in the third.

Minnesota (40-25-5) got goals from Marco Rossi, Justin Brazeau, Mats Zuccarello, and Frederick Gaudreau (empty net). Zuccarello added an assist, and Matt Boldy recorded two. Filip Gustavsson stopped 20 of 21 shots for the Wild.
