Dansville Central School District voters have overwhelmingly approved a $5.8 million capital project to upgrade the Dansville Primary School. The plan, funded primarily through state building aid, will not raise local taxes. With 88% voter support, the district can move forward with urgent roof replacements and other renovations.
The project will replace the aging roof, which has exceeded its life expectancy and developed active leaks. Additional upgrades include new HVAC controls, water-damaged ceiling repairs, and the installation of resilient flooring in the main corridor. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion targeted for fall 2026.
The majority of funding—approximately 87.6%—will come from New York State Building Aid, while the remaining 12.4% will be covered by the district’s Capital Reserve Fund. This financial structure allows the project to proceed without impacting local tax rates.
Phase II of the district’s facilities improvement plan is already in development, with another vote anticipated in the 2025-26 academic year. Additional details are available on the Dansville Central School District website.
