A Penn Yan man was arrested after allegedly stealing food while working at a local establishment.
The Penn Yan Police Department took Nicholas E. Sumpter, 34, into custody on March 21 following a larceny complaint. Authorities say Sumpter prepared food for himself on two separate occasions without paying. Video evidence confirmed the thefts, and Sumpter later admitted to not rendering payment.
Sumpter was processed at the police department and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
