The Sodus Community Library is hosting a series of events throughout April, offering activities for all ages and interests. From plant swaps to art classes and educational workshops, the library aims to bring the community together through engaging programs.
On April 12, the library will hold a Plant Swap from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Attendees are encouraged to bring a plant and exchange it for a new one. The event is open to all types of plants, not just houseplants.
For those with a creative side, an Egg Carton Bunny Portrait art class will take place on April 14 at 6:00 p.m. This event is designed for adults and offers an opportunity to craft unique bunny-themed artwork.
Book lovers can participate in the One Book, OWWL Kids community reading program on April 22 at 10:30 a.m. and April 23 at 6:00 p.m. Miss Amanda will read Going Places by Paul and Peter Reynolds, followed by a craft session and a free book giveaway.
Gardening enthusiasts can learn about the art of bonsai at a special Bonsai Workshop presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Wendy on April 28 at 9:00 a.m. Registration is required, and a minimum of 10 participants is needed for the class to take place.
In addition to these events, the library is offering weekly Tai Chi for Health classes on Mondays from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. The classes, running from April 7 to June 16, are open to caregivers of individuals with memory loss as well as the general public.
