House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Thursday that Democrats are beating back Donald Trump’s agenda, pointing to strong fundraising and the president’s declining approval as signs of momentum, according to Spectrum News.
Jeffries blasted Republican proposals to slash public programs and accused the GOP of running a “Ponzi scheme” on the American people. He criticized Trump’s “Project 2025” plan, warning it aims to dismantle Medicaid and the Department of Education while gutting federal agencies.
Despite GOP control, Jeffries said cracks are forming, especially in two Florida special elections where early vote margins have narrowed.
