The Auburn Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest connected to a suspicious house fire that occurred on March 24 at 44 Walnut Street.
According to a release issued on April 2, a neighbor’s surveillance camera captured an unidentified individual approaching the property around 2:00 a.m. and walking away approximately five minutes later. The person was last seen heading west while carrying what appeared to be a bag.
Detective Charles Augello is leading the investigation and is urging anyone with information about the person or their movements to come forward. Officials did not release details on the cause or damage of the fire but confirmed it remains under investigation.
