A pedestrian suffered injuries Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a Penn Yan crosswalk.
The driver, identified by police as 92-year-old Suzanne Goodrich of Clinton Street, was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Officers say Goodrich hit the pedestrian while they were crossing Liberty Street at the intersection with Elm Street just after 8:30 a.m.
Emergency responders from the Penn Yan Fire Department and Yates County Emergency Services assisted at the scene. The injured pedestrian was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. Authorities have not released the nature or severity of the injuries.
The Penn Yan Police Department is continuing its investigation.
