Cayuga County private sector job count increases

Private sector jobs grew last month in Cayuga County, while the unemployment rate dropped, new data from the state Department of Labor show. Private sector employers in the county filled 21,400 jobs in August, up 300 from the same month in 2014. Health department: Blue-green algae blooms spotted throughout Owasco Lake

The Owasco Watershed Inspection Program has reported that blue-green algae blooms now have been spotted in open water across Owasco Lake, according to the Cayuga County Health Department.
