First Annual Harriet Tubman Day

Save the date for the First Annual Harriet Tubman Day at the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center & Auburn NY Visitor Center. Emceed by NewsChannel 9’s Jennifer Sanders, this will be a day of celebration, featuring author and historian, Dr. Kate Clifford Larson; Smithsonian music educators, Greg Artzner and Terry Leonino of Magpie; Martha Swan, creator of “Harriet Was Here in My Backyard” project; with special music by Genesee Elementary School students performing the songs they wrote about “Oh, Harriet the Brave,” as featured in the ERHC. The program begins at noon on Sunday, March 10. A curation of vendors will be on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with specialty Harriet Tubman items for purchase. The event is free and open to the public.
